“And life is like a song”

Adrian + Lia met when Adrian crashed Lia’s girls night out with his best mate. They hit it off and dated for 7 happy years before Adrian set the wheels in motion for his proposal. He went to a huge effort to throw Lia off guard by arranging for her friends (also bridesmaids) who worked for a food company to invite her to a “Women in the Food Industry” picnic event. Leading up to the event, Lia thought Adrian was being a bit suspect, even offering to buy her a dress for the “picnic”. Lia started to piece together what she describes as “everyones weirdness” and figured the picnic was a set up and that she was going to get engaged. Everyone however went completely silent trying to throw her off the scent and it worked. On the day of the proposal, Adrian organised to go into the city beforehand with his friends and Lia was inundated with Instagram Stories of the boys having a grand old time. She was devastated that she had misread the situation and resigned to the fact she was actually off to a “picnic”.

Fast forward 4 hours later and Lia was walking into Lavender Bay with the girls, telling them about her proposal theory and spotted Adrian with a gorgeous picnic set up – and a diamond ring! He proposed with all their friends present and organised a surprise engagement party straight after at Cafe Del Mar.

Adrian + Lia endured the rollercoaster ride of 2020 wedding planning but were finally able to celebrate when the day came around. They said their vows at the majestic Our Lady of Victories in Horsley Park. Following the ceremony, we headed straight to the Sydney Opera House where we got some gorgeous shots of the newlyweds before their reception at Doltone House Jones Bay Wharf.
