“Well, in my eyes you are perfect as you are”
Anthony + Alexandra met at The Island in Sydney and love soon followed. Two years later, Anthony surprised Alexandra with a sea plane on the water in Rose Bay. Alexandra says, “I thought it was my birthday gift, and an odd one because I get motion sick and Anthony hates heights! We landed in the Hawkesbury for a ‘quick fly break’ when he gave me my birthday card, with the most beautiful words, and then he got on one knee and popped the question! Best YES of my life!”
Anthony + Alexandra were most looking forward to being married and “being the Picasso’s!” While the lead up was certainly tense – navigating lock downs and changing restrictions – they finally made it!
Anthony + Alexandra know how to throw a party as time-honoured hospitality is in their DNA. Alexandra is the granddaughter of Filippo Navarra who started Australia’s leading events and hospitality group, Navarra Venues, close to 50 years ago. Alexandra’s parents work in the business and have seen thousands of beautiful weddings, although none quite as special as this one!
Anthony + Alex said their vows at Holy Name of Mary in Hunters Hill, and their smiles and happiness at becoming husband + wife was truly special.
We went for our bridal party portraits around the beautiful grounds of the heritage castle that is Sydney’s most glamorous wedding reception venue, Curzon Hall. During this time, guests were treated to an array of delicacies – there was antipasto and oyster stations, caviar and iced vodka, pasta chefs and “Bar Picasso” serving up bespoke cocktails. Guests were then led to the main dinner event. The reception styling was the proud work of Navarra Venues + Melissa D’Cruz Florals and blew everyone away!
The night was led by MC Phillip Franc and guests danced to the tunes of Evoke Entertainment. Anthony even performed a special rendition on guitar! It was beautiful, personal and an incredible celebration as only the Navarra Group knows how!
