“Oh, my heart hurts so good. I love you, babe, so bad”

Blake + Siarn have known each other from birth, as Siarn’s uncle is married to Blake’s cousin. Their families have always been close and so they often saw each other at family events and birthdays. However, it was not until an unexpected summer romance at a family holiday to Forster, in 2013/2014 that they realised they were more than friends.

Four years into their relationship and they went to see Harry Potter at the Opera House with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra playing the live music score, something they do twice a year when it is running. Knowing Siarn is obsessed with Harry Potter, Blake knew this would be the perfect night for the proposal. After the movie, they got ice-cream by the Harbour and Blake asked Siarn to sit down on a bench with the Opera House behind them and the view of the Harbour in front. Siarn says, “It was at this moment that Blake got on one knee (and in true Blake fashion, he quickly jumped back up again because he is extremely shy!!) and he asked me to marry him after reciting a line from my other favourite movie, Pride and Prejudice. And typical of myself, I couldn’t stop laughing because I was so happy but in disbelief it was finally happening. With Blake worried as I wasn’t saying anything, I reassured him with a firm yes!”

They planned their wedding but unfortunately had to postpone their June 2021 date the week of the wedding due to the sudden lockdown. They waited patiently until July 2022, most excited by the moment they would see each other for the first time when Siarn walked down the aisle at their venue, Ottimo House.

The day itself was rainy but nothing could dampen the spirits of our newlyweds and their guests as they celebrated the new Mr + Mrs Bagnarol.
