“This is how you fall in love”

Cameron + Emily met at the young age of 15 at their local train station on the way to school. Although they would chat a little while, eventually they went their separate ways but rekindled their friendship a few years later at 17 and began dating at 18. Nonetheless Emily had a strong inkling Cameron was special and says “I literally told myself when we were 15 that I would marry him one day!”

Five years later and Cameron booked a trip away to the Kangaroo Valley which he disguised as an end of year holiday as she had just finished her first year of teaching. Emily says:

“On the day that he proposed, he took me out to do lots of things that I don’t enjoy, like bush walking. In the morning he had put me off the scent by telling me to wear active wear and not bother with makeup. One of the activities Cam had planned for the day (a tree top walk) was closed by the time that we got there. At the time I didn’t realise, but this actually threw Cam’s plans for the whole day as he had people back at our cabin setting up the place. Cam then faked a stomachache, so we then drove back to the pub we had lunch at, and Cam sat on the toilet for HALF AN HOUR minutes pretending he wasn’t feeling well. When he finally came out from the bathroom, I just want to go back to the cabin, so Cam agreed and we started the slow drive back, except his car broke down. This was not part of his plan. We eventually got the car going again and got back to the cabin at exactly the time we needed to be there. When we pulled up, Cam told me to close my eyes. He had organised one of my nice outfits to be laid out for me. He told me to get changed and meet him around the back of the cabin. He had also organised a photographer to capture the moment. Cam had 3 other plans to propose but were all ruined by covid. He said that this plan was by far the best of them all”

Cameron + Emily planned their day excited to have all their friends and family in one place, with Emily especially looking forward to seeing Cameron standing at the end of the aisle. For Emily, this was also the very first wedding she had been to (!) and this meant she didn’t have anything to compare to so everything on the day was even more exciting and amazing. Their ceremony was beautiful and heartfelt, with Cam tearing up at seeing his beautiful bride. Following the ceremony, we made the most of the beautiful grounds of the Mater Dei Chapel and their venue, Burnham Grove Estate for photos where they had fun with their bridal party and enjoyed ice cream to round out the most perfect day.
