“Our hearts are like firestone, when they strike, feel the love”
Christian + Malianne have been friends since high school, with Christian’s having the biggest crush on Malianne! He tried multiple times to ask her out and managed to become successful when they were 21. Fortunately for both, it was worth the wait and his persistance!
As for the proposal, Malianne says:
“Christian is a beer fanatic, if it’s one thing he can’t live without, it’s beer. He has always pressured me into drinking beer with him and I’ve always said I will have one the day we get engaged. So last March 2021 in Sydney’s worst rainfall, he hijacked the weekend I was meant to be spending with my best friend and we ended up making it a couple’s day out. We went out in the rain, and I thought all these people were just nuts and Christian decided to bring a case of beer. To be honest, this was not unlike him. My best friend was also getting married and managed to pull off the story that we had to go out in the rain because she was looking for pre wedding shoot photos and the photographer was quoting her by location. We got out of the car, and were taking photos and Christian tells me to go get him and his friend a beer. I argued back for him to get his own beer and he told me, for once in my life I needed to stop being so stubborn and just to do it. To get out of the rain I went and did it. I open the esky and there was beer with the labels ‘Marry Me, Malianne’. I turned and he was on his knees. I cried and asked him if he was sure he wanted to marry me haha”
Our happy couple were excited to share their day with their family and friends and exchanged vows St Gertrude’s Catholic Church in Smithfield. Christian teared up as he saw his beautiful bride come down the aisle.
It was only fitting that we made sure to stop for some celebratory beers! Our team and the bridal party incorporated a brewery stop into the portrait session and our newlyweds enjoyed the relaxed and fun atmosphere. We then continued photos around their venue, Novella on the Park, where they partied the night away hosted by MC Joe Dimento and entertained by Orget Sax.
