“With you I’m safe, we’re fallin’ like the stars, we’re fallin’ in love”

Emilio + Demi first met in their early teens. It was love at first sight for Emilio and they friended on socials but it took Demi a while to consider Emilio as a love match. After countless rejections, his persistence won! When they crossed paths again in their 20s, things just clicked and they have not looked back since.

Emilio + Demi had been dating for around 9 months when they booked in a holiday to Bali. Demi says, “My parents are quite old fashioned and don’t like to encourage pre-marital holidays, however being the terrible Greek girl I am, I pushed the limits… Little did I know, Emilio had asked for my hand in marriage a few weeks prior!”

As for the proposal, it came as a total surprise. On their first day in Bali, Emilio had booked dinner at a beautiful restaurant on the beach. In retrospect, Demi laughs that he even factored in lots of time for her to get ready (which never happens!), and brought along a man bag which he claims was for his passport but which contained a very special surprise. Demi says, “We get to the restaurant and we are just talking about life, the beautiful romantic beach in front of us, the gorgeous restaurant and Emilio begins to tell me about his future plans and endeavours for us…. not long after, Emilio goes to the bathroom with his man bag, he returns shortly after and dessert starts to come out. The waitress snatches his phone and I say, ‘Why does she need your phone?’ He replies, ‘Apparently the dessert has sparklers and is going to be really cool…’ Dessert arrives, it’s not extravagant so I was confused, I actually properly look at the dessert and see a cookie which reads ‘WILL YOU MARRY ME?’ I am instantly shocked… I look to my right and Emilio is on one knee ASKING ME TO MARRY HIM!!!! I instantly bawl my eyes out, to then ask “DID YOU ASK MY PARENTS”, he replies “YES” and I continue to cry the restaurant down LOL!! It was honestly the most perfect, surreal and shocking moment of my life! I did NOT see it coming AT ALL, it’s exactly how I wanted it!!”

Emilio + Demi were married in a traditional ceremony at St Raphael’s Greek Orthodox Church in Liverpool, Demi most excited to see Emilio in his wedding suit at the end of the aisle. Following their union, we went for photos at Balmoral, on the way to their reception at Zest in Mosman. Emilio + Demi were keen to soak up the day with their family and friends, eat and dance (and our bride excited to wear her gorgeous wedding shoes!) They brought such a fun and happy energy to the day, we couldn’t help but smile along and celebrate with them.
