“Hopeless, head over heels in the moment”

Joshua + Alyssa met while working together at Priceline Pharmacy. Alyssa was a supervisor and Josh was a floor member who eventually moved into a position in the storeroom, next Alyssa’s office. Through that proximity, they began talking. They both loved music and spoke of adventures and concerts and festivals. While still friends, Josh bought Alyssa a ticket to Listen Out festival for them to attend together and the rest is history! (Side note and fun coincidence – the Listen Out festival for this year falls on the same weekend as their wedding – they did not plan this, they just picked the next available date).

Almost 5 years of dating, and Josh planned a dinner and hotel stay for Alyssa’s birthday weekend. Alyssa says:

“When the afternoon came around, Josh was hurrying me up to pack my bags and get ready so we could get there early before our dinner reservation. I did not pick up on this but we will circle back to this later. I took my sweet time packing my bags (I am an overpacker, we were only staying 1 night) and then we were off. By this time it was getting on dark. As we were driving, Josh put on a podcast (he did this on purpose to try and get me to sleep) and told me to have a mini sleep in the car because I was tired and we were going to be up late that night. When I felt the car slow and park I looked around and we were at a beach. I asked Josh where we were which he replied “our hotel” which was nowhere in sight. When we got out of the car I realised we were at Bondi Beach and that’s when I knew it was happening! Josh and I have only ever been to Bondi Beach once together and it was 6 years ago when he asked me to be his girlfriend. I didn’t pick up on this in our whole relationship but he used to tell me “we will go back to Bondi when I propose” and we did! We took a walk along the path and then he proposed on the rocks overlooking the ocean. He was rushing me earlier because he wanted to do this on sunset”

Joshua + Alyssa said their vows in a beautiful garden ceremony at Novella on the Park. We went for our bridal party portraits at the Western Regional Parklands, before their reception where Alyssa was most excited to “dance with my husband and feel like a princess in my dress”.  The night was led by MC Daniel Merza and guests partied the night away filled with the warmth of two beautiful families coming together.
