“Let your arms be a place she feels safe in”

Kristinas brother Mijovil was Joshua’s neighbour for about a year before they met. Josh became friends with Mijovil & his wife Patrizzia in this time and Kristina began doing eye lash extensions for Joshua’s mum. At one appointment, Kristina stayed over for hours after finishing talking to Josh and becoming friends in the process. From there they continued to talk until the friendship became a relationship.

Five years later, and it was Christmas Eve 2020 when Joshua had a plan in mind. He picked up the engagement ring 2 days before and hid it on an ornament on the Christmas tree. He then got his family involved to surprise Kristina. During the day on Christmas Eve, Joshua’s sister Kristen asked Kristina to come over Josh’s parents house as they were planning Christmas drinks with the girls. Josh used that opportunity to sneak home and lay rose petals and lit candles from the doorway all the way to the Christmas tree. It was during the period where restrictions were still in place and Kristen tricked Kristina into thinking the ‘Christmas Drink’s’ had been cancelled because police were doing head counts on the street. When Kristina arrived home she opened the front door in shock and happy tears and dropped to her knees in joy. She followed the rose petals and candles to Josh who was in front of the Christmas tree, who then took the ornament off the tree that the ring was hidden in, opened it up and asked for her hand in marriage.

Kristina is also Mark’s cousin. Our happy couple were excited to share their day with their family and friends and exchanged vows at their local parish, Our Lady of Victories in Horsley Park. They had a fun entourage of friends and family in their bridal party and we went on a location shoot around The Rocks in Sydney before celebrating their Sydney wedding at Conca D’oro.
