“I could stay lost in this moment forever”

Matt + Serena are so special to us for many reasons, but one main one being that we’ve been around from the very start of their forever story! Back in 2018, we received an enquiry for proposal photos. Serena (a photographer herself) had always loved our photography style and photos are so important to her that Matt was sure to fit us into his proposal plans (see here). One gorgeous afternoon, we watched Serena coming down the stairs at Woolwich hand-in-hand with Matt, with the knowing excitement that their lives were about to change. Matt had set up a gorgeous proposal and the joy of Serena’s reaction and saying ‘yes’ was just magical.

Their journey to get married wasn’t without its complications. Unfortunately, Covid restrictions led to Matt + Serena postponing their wedding not once, but twice. Then, only a couple of weeks out from their third date, restrictions were reintroduced meaning they sadly could not accomodate all their guests. Le Montage however came up with a Plan B – two weddings in one day! It was certainly ambitious, but Matt + Serena, their bridal party and their families pulled it off!

The day commenced with a beautiful Ceremony at Holy Name of Mary, Hunters Hill. It was sentimental and emotional, and our bride’s cheer following the first kiss was reflective of the journey they had undertaken to getting to the alter. Our bridal party and guests then went straight to a lunch reception at Le Montage, led by MC Phillip Franc who worked miracles to fit all formalities within a shorter timeframe.

Following this, we took our bridal party for a beautiful (but speedy!) afternoon photoshoot in The Rocks while Le Montage and all contractors re-set the room afresh for the evening reception. Then, everyone was back to do it all again, with a different set of guests! If anyone deserved to re-live their wedding day, it was Matt + Serena who got to enjoy two entrances, two rounds of speeches, two first dances and all the love and happiness in the room, welcoming them as husband + wife.
