“That may be all I need, in darkness she is all I see”
Paul + Alexandra are high school sweethearts, having started out as best friends until romance bloomed. In December 2020, they went for a weekend away to Gerringong. Paul says:
“I planned that we would go for a walk in the morning and I would propose on Werri Beach, I was stressing because the engagement ring box was too big to fit in my pocket so I quickly threw some water bottles in a backpack along with the ring (under the guise we were going for a big walk and needed water). The weather was absolutely horrible, freezing temperatures and gale force winds in the middle of December. We walked along the beach for a while and I was trying to find a good place to stop and pop the question. We ended up sitting on the rocks near the water and I started talking about our journey together. And after a few minutes I built up the courage to propose. She cried, she said yes, and now we are getting married. #theoldballandchain”
Crazy weather is a bit of a theme for Paul + Alexandra (they also scored rain on their engagement shoot and wedding day) but their ability to laugh and go along with the flow sets them apart.
Our happy couple were excited to share their day with their family and friends and exchanged vows at their local parish, Our Lady of Victories in Horsley Park. They had a fun entourage of friends and family in their bridal party and we went on a location shoot around their Sydney wedding reception venue, Ottimo House.
