“And when they strike, we light up the world!”
Rocco + Shardai met at their local F45 gym. Rocco came in late from work one afternoon and quickly partnered up with Shardai as the class had already started. Their friendly competitiveness kicked in and they began competing with one another to get the most points on their heart rate monitors. They started training together thereafter and Rocco eventually built up the courage to ask Shardai out on date.
Three years later, Rocco had another special question to ask! He wanted the proposal to be a surprise, so he teamed up with Shardai’s sister Briana to organise a delayed “Graduation Dinner” for herself with Shardai’s family at Balmoral Pavilion. They arrived at Balmoral beach before their reservation and Shardai’s sister asked for some photos of her in front of the water. Once she got her shots, she then asked if Rocco + Shardai wanted some photos. Shardai says:
“Rocco handed the phone over to her while I got in position. (I later learnt that this moment was key as not only did they exchange the phone, but the ring too!) Briana then encouraged Rocco to “do something a little different”. I assumed she was suggesting he pose differently but before I knew it he was down on one knee and I was in tears! I was absolutely over the moon and was not expecting it at all. Briana caught the whole thing on video. Rocco had also organised a photographer to capture the special moment as well. It then turned out that the dinner was actually a surprise engagement dinner with our immediate family. It was the most perfect proposal and all that I had ever hoped for plus more”
Rocco + Shardai were excited to officially become husband + wife and had a beautiful ceremony at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church in Horsley Park. They had an early ceremony time so we were able to go for a photoshoot in the city followed by drinks with the bridal party. We then headed to Miramare Gardens where they celebrated their reception, the room filled with happy guests ready to party!
