“I will look for you in every lifetime and love you there“
Stefan + Mariam first met in high school but it wasn’t until they started university that things took a romantic turn. They were together 7 years when Mariam’s best friend Carol took her on a day out as a treat. They went to the city for high tea (with memorably, “the worst tasting lemon tart on earth”) and then Carol mentioned she had a hotel booked with her partner and that Mariam should come up and say hi. Mariam says:
“She led me to the room where Stefan had set up the entire room with flowers and pictures of us and was on one knee. It was beautiful. He was extremely nervous (like I’d say no) and even put the ring on the wrong hand. It’s a lovely story that we will tell our kids one day”
Stefan + Mariam planned a cultural wedding combining their Assyrian + Macedonian heritage. They were excited to see each other at the ceremony and just finally getting married and celebrating. The morning was filled with festivities including drummers and traditional dancers at Mariam’s house and they met at the alter at St Petka Macedonian Orthodox Church in Rockdale. Our newlyweds then enjoyed a photoshoot with their bridal party around the city before heading to Zest Waterfront Venues in Mosman where guests partied all night.
